Numina
Design of a collaborative soundtrack for Zarah Hussain's projection installation at the Barbican in 2016/17.
In total, 24 musician/participants contributed material to the soundtrack.
NUMINA is a 3D sculptural installation by visual artist Zarah Hussain.  It was commissioned by and presented at the Barbican Centre London between October 2016 and January 2017.  ICMUS founder, Mike Roberts, designed the soundtrack to incorporate the compositional input of 24 local students - producing an eternally rising harmonic texture (sonic illusion is responsible for this - and best experienced on headphones, or a full range system, to fully appreciate the effect).

The design of the soundtrack is a good example of our commitment in collaborative projects to ensure equality of contribution among participants - leading to a sense of shared ownership and true 'community art'.
